Plandescil Ltd are currently seeking Structural Engineers to join our expanding team in our Attleborough office. Engineers can be expected to work as part of a team with everybody working for and with everybody else, with responsibilities focused around project requirements. Our Structural Engineers normally work on several projects in varying teams at any time, all requiring various and bespoke structural solutions at different levels of progression and size.

Your responsibilities would normally include:

  • Problem solving on a day-to-day basis
  • Preparing structural designs and specifications for your projects, using all common materials
  • Undertaking 2D/3D modelling and drafting work to support your designs
  • Preparing structural inspection reports and remedial works reports
  • Attend site visits, site meetings and design meetings as your projects require
  • Maintain all necessary project data and information
  • Liaise and coordinate with other engineers, architects, surveyors and contractors 
  • Checking drawings and designs of peers
  • Actively seek new and innovative design methods and solutions
  • Planning and implementation of site investigations
  • Running projects through from conception, design, tender and construction

Qualifications/Experience:

  • A relevant degree; minimum BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering at a high grade
  • A high level of technical competence
  • Computer literate, knowledge of design and analysis programs would be an advantage (the company uses Tekla Tedds design software, Idea Statica, Strand 7, Tekla Portal Frame & Connection Designer, S-Frame, Autodesk Robot)
  • Strong analytical, maths and technical skills
  • Competent in use of AutoCAD
  • Flexible approach to work and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure
  • Excellent organisational skills and timekeeping
  • Good written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills

  • Working hours and days are 8.30am to 5.15pm, Monday – Friday. This is currently in transition to a flexible working approach, which is being rolled out across the company where it is possible, however our base office is still in Attleborough, Norfolk
