Decoy Farm AD & Waste Plant and Composting Site
Having worked with Material Change previously, Plandescil took on the Civil Engineering Consultant role for the entire build project, following the site being obtained post-planning.
The site is located in the Fens on notoriously bad ground. We initiated the piling tender and design, the Client selected to work with Kellers, whom we then worked closely with to design, set out and install a mixture of stone vibro and precast concrete piles. However, prior to the piling start the ground conditions were so bad that the soil had to be cement stabilised before the piling mat could be installed to move the piling rigs on to site, this also raised the ground level which helped with the high water table associated with working in this area of the country.
Working alongside Material Change, various Contractors and Process Providers, Plandescil designed Reinforced Concrete Containment, Silage Clamps, Access Road, Equipment Bases, Surface & Leachate Drainage and Steel Framed Structures to British Standard, Eurocodes and Environment Agency sign off.
Moving forward, Plandescil has designed a Steel Framed Waste Reception Building, Digestate Lagoon and Civils/Foundation design for some drying and process equipment.
