We are currently seeking an Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental Department. The ideal candidate would have a relevant degree and ideally some experience in the environmental sector preferably in contaminated land.

You will work as part of a team preparing Contaminated Land Reports including but not limited to Preliminary Risk Assessments & Desk Studies, Intrusive Investigations, Remediation Strategies and Verification Reports.

You will be focused mainly on contamination aspects however, you may be required to assist on Flood Risk Assessments and Surface & Foul Water Drainage Strategies also.  The position would involve working as part of a team providing advice to clients on environmental issues, contributing towards the production of technical reports and various environmental applications.  All of the work must be carried out in accordance with the current guidelines. 

A good understanding of geology, hydrology, hydrogeology and contaminated land issues is required but in house training will be provided.  The guidelines for reporting on these matters are constantly changing and there will be a requirement to keep abreast of the latest requirements and models in use.  A professional approach to advice given and report writing is expected. 

You will be required to liaise verbally including site/office meetings and telephone conversations in addition to written form with the Client, Local Authority, the Environment Agency, County Council, NHBC and the local Water Authority.
