Here at Plandescil we are currently seeking a Consulting Engineer Apprentice to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in maths, computing, design and construction. The role will involve undertaking tasks in various different departments within Plandescil, from computer-aided design to field-based work.

The Apprentice’s role will be widely varied across a number of Plandescil’s departments, helping out where needed. The Apprentice will be spending time on the computer producing drawings as well as on site assisting with tasks such as Land Surveying. This will allow the Apprentice to experience a variety of aspects of Plandescil and gain a wider understanding of how and why we undertake the work we do.

Alongside the Level 3 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship course, Plandescil will provide the Apprentice with full training on all of the tasks we expect them to undertake. We will also assign the Apprentice a mentor to monitor their progress and ensure they achieve their full potential on the course.

Plandescil is a consulting engineers practice based in Attleborough, Norfolk, offering services in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering and Land Surveying. We produce design in the form of drawings and calculation packages, undertake various surveys and compose numerous reports for a range of clients. Our aim is to provide ‘cost effective engineering solutions’ to our clients, we strive to achieve this by keeping up-to-date with current technologies within our market place.

Training our staff to their full potential is extremely important to us. With the National shortage of Engineers we have taken many students from school and seen them through to their professional qualifications. We have loyal staff, many of whom have remained with Plandescil throughout their working life, enjoying the challenging and varied workload we undertake. We endeavor to enroll our apprentices on appropriate Civil Engineering courses.

In July 2016, ownership of Plandescil transferred to an employee owned trust. The new structure provides a voice for all members of staff to have a say in the business and continue to take pride in working for a forward thinking company rooted in traditional family values.
